A grant we got wrong

In 2023 we made a three-year grant to an organisation that closed fourteen months in. We had read the accounts. We had not read the minutes.

We now ask for board minutes for the preceding year on any grant over £50,000. It is more intrusive and we can defend it: the warning signs in that case were in the governance, not the finances.
